We all know it’s easy to grab a packet of bought crisps, but if you have a bit of time it’s fun to make your own in all sorts of different colours and flavours. Even better, nobody can tell you off for munching them as they are made from healthy vegetables.

Ingredients

  • 2–3 large parsnips, peeled and finely sliced
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2–4 balls of raw beetroot

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 140°C/275°F/Gas 1. Toss the sliced parsnips with 1 tbsp of the oil then lay them, well spaced out, on a large baking sheet.
