This vivid smoothie is a perfect balance of natural sweetness. You’ll need to chop the carrots finely, or even grate them, so they blend to a smooth texture, and you’ll need a powerful blender to handle the ice cubes. If you’re not sure, grate the carrots and use iced water rather than ice cubes.

Ingredients

  • 4 oranges, peeled and roughly chopped (saving and using as much juice as possible)
  • 275 g/10 oz carrots, peel

Method

  1. Put everything into the blender and whiz until smooth and combined.
  2. Drink immediately or put in the fridge until you’re ready to serve, giving it a mix before drinking.
