Making your own hummus is incredibly easy – just whiz everything up in a food processor and you’re done! Made with high-protein chickpeas, it is not only tasty and healthy, but it also helps you stay full for longer.

Ingredients

  • 400 g/14 oz can of chickpeas/garbanzos, drained
  • 2 garlic cloves, peeled and crushed

Method

  1. Put the chickpeas in a food processor along with the garlic and tahini, and whiz until combined and finely chopped. Slowly trickle in the olive oil until it is the right consistency.
  2. Now add a little lemon juice and salt and pepper, taste, then add more salt and lemon juice if it needs it. If it is too thick, add a splash of just-boiled water.
