Sweet honey, sour vinegar and heady cardamom combine to give a beguiling flavour to these quickly roasted figs. No dessert could be simpler to make yet look so splendid - the beauty provided by the fruit itself is only bolstered by its spicy syrup glaze.

Ingredients

For the roast figs

  • 8 black figs
  • 4 green cardamom pods, seeds ground
  • 2 tablespoons hon

Method

Heat the oven to 180°C/160°C fan (350°F).
