The ratio: Enough water to cover the chickpeas
INSTRUCTIONS
Soak the chickpeas overnight.
Rinse the chickpeas and drain. Add them to a saucepan and cover them with water (about 1 cm above). If you want to spice things up, use vegetable stock in place of the water.
Cover with a lid and boil for 1½ hours or until tender. Take them off the heat and drain.
