  • About

In the Baltic States, you can buy a large punnet of these vivid orange berries for a euro. Although sea buckthorn is also native to Scotland and the east coast of England, it is much harder to come by. You may be able to find fresh berries when they are in season, and frozen or dried sea buckthorn berries can be bought online (try britishseabuckthorn.com) and in wholefood shops; soak dried berries in apple juice for an hour before using. If you have no luck with sourcing any of these, you could use red or white currants as a substitute.
