Thai sweet basil has a sweet anise/liquorice aroma and is used as a garnish in soups, larbs, salads and curries in Thai and Vietnamese cooking. Most supermarkets carry it or you can source it online. Holy basil is used for cooked dishes, like pad krapow gai stir-fry. It’s more difficult to find so I usually end up using Thai basil instead.
