Our cupcakes are piped with a smooth dome or swirl of buttercream. All you need is a piping bag and a large (ours is 1.6cm) plain or open nozzle.

Ingredients
For a dome
Hold the piping bag just above the centre of the cake and squeeze steadily, moving the nozzle up slowly as you do.
You can get a similar effect using a large (ours is 58mm) scissor-action ice cream scoop — just place a scoop on top of each cake.
