Primarily still used to make soda-fountain drinks, this is one of our favorite ingredients. We think its tangy, nutty flavor enhances both vanilla- and chocolate-based desserts. My favorite brand is Carnation malt, which is carried in most grocery stores, but if you can’t find that, Ovaltine chocolate malt drink mix can be used as well.
