A shortbread crust is made from the same shortbread dough we used to make cookies. It creates a crust that is buttery, soft, and slightly sweeter than a traditional pie pastry. This style of crust is most traditionally used as the base for tarts, but it can be used for other types of pies as well, especially cheesecakes.

To make the crust, utilize the shortbread cookie recipe and follow the instructions for using it as a base for a tart or pie.
