Thermomix

We use our Thermomixes all day long. A Thermomix is a very powerful blender that can also weigh ingredients and be programmed to cook things: they get purées silky smooth and are great for making things like custards without using a pan. They are also extremely expensive, but in most circumstances a good upright blender will do a similar job.
