  • About

I would recommend soaking these for a minimum of 5 hours or overnight. If you soak them overnight you can begin to make mung bean sprouts which require draining to get rid of any excess water, then placing in a partially covered bowl in a dark, warm place. After a further 12 hours, sprouts will begin to push through. You can then make them into a delicious salad. To make regular dal you need to boil the green mung for around 30 minutes on a medium to high heat. Again, it depends on the brand you buy so it may take a little longer. See my green mung, garlic and tomato dal.
