  • About
Sorrel is a leafy green plant that grows wild in northern Asia and Europe. There are many species, including common sorrel and the roundleaved (French) sorrel. Sorrel has large, spinachlike leaves that have a lemony acidic, slightly bitter taste, due to the presence of oxalic acid. Use sorrel in a mixed green salad or cook it like spinach. Sorrel is also made into soups or used as a flavouring herb in omelettes.
