Prepare and marinate chicken as for cooking in range broiler. Wait until charcoal in grill has burned to white in daylight; if still red, heat will be too intense. Place chicken on grill, skin side up. Baste with heated sauce. Broil 10 minutes, baste again and turn. Repeat basting and turning every 10 minutes until done, about 30 to 40 minutes. If heat gets too intense, sprinkle water on coals.
