  • About

Blend. To mix various ingredients together in a uniform manner. For example, one blends flour and butter with a whisk or beater before adding milk or another liquid to make a sauce. When the liquid is added, it, too, is stirred and cooked until blended and smooth. One of the best and most practical utensils for blending is the electric blender, although the action of the blender does far more than blend soups, sauces, vegetables, and on on. It is also excellent for “grating” such things as bread and cheese.
