This tablet is badly damaged. Bottéro was able to decipher only three fragmentary parts, two of which dealt with bird recipes, also using vinegar, beer and ‘andahsu’ for flavor. As an Iraqi cook, I find the deciphered portions most interesting, as in them I recognize two common cooking practices. There is a reference to preparing ‘sasku,’ then adding to it meat that has been chopped first, which is very much like the khubuz laham we still bake in Iraq. This is simply bread dough, mixed with chopped meat, onions, parsley, and spices.
