  • About
Although it is easy to buy most nuts ready chopped, flaked and shredded, you may find a dish that calls for a specific treatment of a certain nut. Nuts will taste fresher and retain more moisture if they are cut just before use.

Shredding Place a nut on a cutting board, flat-side down, and cut it lengthwise into shreds.

Flaking Place the thin side of a nut on a cutting board, support one side and cut into thin flakes.

Chopping Once shredded, work a blade backwards and forwards over the nuts on a board.
