  • About
Vegans obviously avoid many of the unhealthy substances found in animal products such as cholesterol and saturated fat, and they are likely to consume more vitamins, minerals and fibre due to eating lots of fruit and vegetables, but it’s still important to ensure all the necessary nutrients are being consumed for a healthy lifestyle.
Getting enough protein is reliant on eating a large variety of plant proteins. Amino acids are the building blocks of protein and some of these cannot be made by your body, they only come from food. Animal proteins provide these in abundance, but vegans need to eat lots of nuts, legumes, tofu, pulses, grains and seeds to be sure they are consuming enough.
