Most children at some time or other decide that vegetables are to be avoided at all costs! But it’s important to remember that you are responsible for helping them to eat as healthily as possible – so try to lead by example. Get them involved in making their own energy balls and muesli bars, adding ingredients they like (but keeping a watchful eye on the amount of sugary things that may go in). Some schools have a no-nut policy so check before adding these nutrient-dense snacks to a child’s lunchbox. Power balls are more suitable for kids aged 7 and above. All of these recipes are perfect snacks for children to take to school – roasted kale crisps, cacao crispy bars, triple decker with apricot, or mini blueberry & orange loaves.
