For anyone new to fermented foods you should start with a small amount and then gradually increase, to let your digestive system get used to it. If you have a sensitive digestive system you might otherwise find you have gas, bloating and discomfort. This will ease off when your digestive system gets accustomed to all the new healthy bacteria. However, if you have severe digestive issues you might find that fermented foods will be a challenge even if you are moderate with your intake. Do seek a health professional’s advice as it might be best to avoid fermented foods until your digestive health is better.
