It is great to start the day with a glass of kefir water, especially on an empty stomach so that the little bacteria go straight to your small intestine where they do all their good work. I often drink this instead of water and also add it as the liquid element to my smoothies. Fermented drinks are, I find, a great option for people who do not like fermented foods; most children enjoy water kefir. And, fermented drinks can work wonders for an upset stomach pretty instantly.
