See the Smart Chart for techniques for shredding/grating and slicing specific foods.
Use the Shredding Disc (also called the Grater) for grating/shredding firm cheeses, raw vegetables (e.g., potatoes, carrots, zucchini), chocolate or nuts. Use the Slicing Disc (also called the Slicer) for slicing vegetables, fruits, chilled meats or firm cheeses. Assembly instructions vary, so refer to your manual.
Some models come with a detachable stem that locks onto the discs. To assemble, place the desired disc upside down on a flat surface, connect the stem and lock into place. Next, place the bowl on the base. Fit the stem of the disc onto the center post (power shaft) of the base, pushing it all the way down. Place the cover on the bowl.
