  • About

  • Penaeus aztecus aztecus, brown shrimp (but not always brown, may be called ‘golden’ or ‘red-tailed’ shrimp); to 22 cm (9"); very important in commercial fisheries.

  • P. duorarum duorarum, pink shrimp (but not always pink); larger than the brown shrimp; important in the Gulf of Mexico and the Caribbean.

  • P. setiferus, white shrimp (usually translucent white, may also be called ‘grey’ or ‘green-tailed’ shrimp); to 20 cm (8"); important in the Gulf of Mexico.
