  • About
Wonton wrappers are made from egg and flour and can be bought fresh or frozen in Chinese shops. They are thin, pastry-like wrappings that can be stuffed with minced meat and fried, steamed or used in soups. They are sold in little piles of 3-inch (7½-cm) squares or sometimes a bit larger, wrapped in plastic. The number of squares or skins in a package varies from about thirty to thirty-six, depending upon the supplier. Fresh wonton skins will keep for about five days if stored in plastic wrap or a plastic bag in the refrigerator. If you are using frozen wonton wrappers, just peel off the number you need and thaw them thoroughly before you use them.
