This is the wild form of marjoram. Used fresh or dried, it appears in some of the Italian-inspired dishes of Nice and the surrounding area. Oregano goes particularly well with tomatoes, cooked cheese dishes, and also strongly flavored meats. The variegated form makes an attractive cushion shape in the herb garden. See also Marjoram.
