  • About
The downy, lacy leaves of this tall herb taste slightly of aniseed and licorice. Like angelica, sweet cicely has a sweetening effect on acid fruit. The young leaves make a decorative addition to a green salad or a salad of wild leaves. Sweet cicely is a pretty member of the Umbelliferae family and is worth a place towards the back of a herb bed.
Cultivation Perennial. Grow in a shady moist position.
