Guidelines for Making Fruit Baskets

Pack the bottom of the basket with tissue paper or raffia to cushion the fruit and create a full appearance.
Wash all fruit in a sanitizing solution and dry completely before packing it in the basket.
Arrange larger, sturdier fruits on the bottom and smaller, more delicate fruits on top.
If cookies or other sweets are included in the basket, they should be individually wrapped in plastic or cellophane.
Enclose the finished basket in a cellophane wrapper tied with a bow. If a card is to be included, attach it in a prominent place where it will be seen.
Don’t seal basket wrappers or attach cards with staples, as they pose the food safety threat of physical contamination.
