  2. Apply the spread to both slices in a thin, even layer extending to the edges of the bread (A).

  3. Place the filling ingredient(s) on 1 piece of bread (B) or the bottom of the roll. If applicable, fluff the filling ingredients, and then distribute them in an even layer extending to the edges of the bread.

  4. Place the internal garnish ingredients on top of the filling in an even layer extending to the edges of the bread (C).

  5. Place the remaining bread slice or the top of the roll on the filling, and press gently to firm and compact the sandwich.
  6. If necessary, secure with sandwich picks.
  7. Using a sharp chef’s knife, cut the sandwich as desired (D).

  8. Slide the blade of the knife under the sandwich pieces, place your hand on top of the sandwich to hold it on the knife, and lift the sandwich onto the plate or into the wrapper (E).

  9. If applicable, wrap the sandwich using the proper method for the sandwich type.
