Procedure for Making Heated-Filling Sandwiches

  • About
  1. Preheat a countertop oven (or standard oven) to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Arrange the sandwich filling on the oven tray or on a sizzle plate in the shape of the bread product to be used (A). Fluff deli meats for best mouthfeel. Do not add cheese at this time.

  3. Bake the filling until hot.
  4. If using cheese, arrange cheese slices on top of the meat and return to the oven just until melted.
  5. Apply the spread to the bread product (B).

  6. Use a spatula to transfer the hot filling to the bread product (C).

  7. Add the internal garnishes.
  8. Close the sandwich (D) and, if necessary, secure it with sandwich picks.

  9. Cut the sandwich as desired (E).

  10. Place the sandwich on a plate and add any external garnishes.
