  • About

For Wilfra (or Wilfred) week, the first week in August, Mr. Herbert M. Bower says: β€˜On the first or second Saturday of August a mounted procession perambulates the streets of Ripon, impersonating St. Wilfred re-entering the town after absence abroad.’

Wilfra tarts are small jam tarts and cheesecakes baked in patty-pans lined with pastry.
