Cutting a Lemon into Wedges

Sauces are an integral part of barbecue, and, of course, the quickest and easiest sauce of all is fresh lemon juice. Seafood, chicken, and even lamb taste downright bland without it. Here’s how to cut lemon wedges that are easy to squeeze and seed-free.

1 Cut the ends off the lemon as shown here.

2 Cut the lemon in half lengthwise. Stand each half on end and cut it into wedges. Note how each wedge has flat ends for easy squeezing.

3 Remove any seeds and cut off the white fibrous center; the lemon is now ready to use.
