The sizes of teaspoons and tablespoons differ marginally in Britain and the US. British spoons, based on the Imperial system, are slightly bigger than US spoons. As the difference is minimal, we have simply used ‘teaspoon’ and ‘tablespoon’. If you are using a US spoon you could be very slightly generous in the spoonfuls, but for the purposes of the ingredients given in spoon measures, it won’t really matter whether yours is an old Imperial or a US spoon.
