REMARKS Maximum length 1 metre 75 (male), 1 metre 90 (female). This species is particularly abundant in the Azov Sea. It also occurs in the Caspian Sea; and single specimens may be met in the Adriatic. The Italian name for the rare visitor is storione stellato, and the Serbo-Croat name pastruga.
