Family Carangidae

REMARKS Maximum length 180 cm. This is a silver fish with a dark back, a black lateral line and black tips on dorsal, anal and tail fins.

The lower drawing shows a close relation, Campogramma glaycos (Lacepède), which is abundant on the coasts of Morocco and moderately common in the western Mediterranean. Its Spanish name is lirio and its Italian name is leccia fasciata. The distinctive pattern of grey over silver, shown in the drawing, is less noticeable in older specimens.
