REMARKS Maximum length 108 cm. This species is more common in the Atlantic and Pacific than in the Mediterranean, where it is mainly to be found along the North African coast. To be recognized by the parallel dark blue stripes running fore and aft along its belly. Katsuwo is the name of this fish in Japan, where it is very common.
