Smooth Venus

REMARKS A larger bivalve, which runs up to 12 cm. The shell is smooth and coloured light brown, with broken bands of a darker (chestnut) colour radiating outwards. Known in English and Welsh waters.

CUISINE Eaten raw, and very good.
