  • About

Family Loliginidae

REMARKS Length up to 50 cm. The projections at the rear of the body are swimming fins. These creatures swim near the surface, very gracefully. Since any attack would be likely to come from below they are normally almost transparent and thus invisible to potential predators. But they can blush a brownish colour. Small ones are calamaretti in Italian.
