REMARKS This smaller octopus has a maximum mantle length of 14 cm and weight of 2 kg. Its tentacles are relatively much longer and thinner than those of the preceding species. It is found in warm waters all round the world; indeed the specimen illustrated comes from Hong Kong waters. It is not common in the Mediterranean.
