Soda Siphon or a Soda Machine

  • About

Both devices for making carbonated drinks, soda siphons are gadgets you attach to the top of a bottle to carbonate the water inside. They use a small CO2 cartridge that you place inside the siphon. Soda machines are appliances that produce soda. They generally use a carbonator filled with CO2 that is inside the machine and carbonates the water in a bottle that is attached to the appliance. I think they’re easier and faster to use than siphons but they take up more space. Ultimately what you choose will come down to cost, space and how much you think you’ll be making your own sodas rather than buying them. (For more on making soda.)
