Russula raoultii Quél. (illustrated 90% life size) Cap 2–6cm across; lemon yellow to pale yellow-buff; fragile, dry, smooth; peeling half way. Stem 20–40×5–10mm, clavate; white, staining very slightly greyish-brown. Flesh white; soft; taste hot, smell pleasant. Gills close, broad; white. Spores 7–8.5×5.5–7µ, ovate; warts up to .75µ high, almost complete reticulum. Spore print white (A). Habitat with broad-leaved trees; autumn. Very rare on Red Data List. Not edible.
