Choiromyces meandriformis Vittad. (illustrated 65% life size) Fruit body 4–12cm across, irregularly subglobose; yellowish-brown. Flesh whitish to yellowish, marbled; smell strongly aromatic. Spores 16Γ—21ΒΌ in diameter, globose, covered in blunt spines. Spore print yellow. Asci 180Γ—70ΒΌ, 8-spored. Habitat on soil surface in deciduous and mixed woods. Rare. Edibility unknown.
