Choiromyces gangliformis Vittad. (illustrated 60% life size) Fruit body 3–9cm across, very lumpy and bumpy (ganglioform); cream coloured. Flesh whitish with lightly marked network; smell slight, scented. Spores 19–23¼, spherical, not spiny but lightly verrucose. Asci 200×60¼, elongate-oval, 8-spored. Habitat in dry areas in mainland Europe, not reported from Britain. Edible but not choice.
