Cumin

Cumin seeds resemble caraway in appearance, but have quite a different flavour, being hot and pungent. They are available in black and white form, and as a powder. One of the main ingredients in commercial curry powder, cumin is also used in Mexican-style rice dishes, dips, yoghurt relishes, soups, salads, pickles and curries. It combines very well with cheese.
