REMARKS Maximum length over 75 cm, market length 35 to 60 cm. The back is a brilliant green or dark blue, the flanks silver, with a yellow tinge to the belly. The lateral line runs very low along the body. This is an oceanic fish, which enters coastal waters and spawns there. It occurs from the Medi -terranean to the Baltic, Norway and Iceland.
