REMARKS This species may reach a length of over 150 cm. It is marked by a narrow brownish strip which runs, as shown in the drawing, from behind the pectoral fin to the base of the tail, crossing the lateral line where the latter curves downwards. This fish is abundant in the West Indies and the Florida Keys, where it may be called king cero; and much less common in the waters up to Cape Cod.
