REMARKS Maximum length 70 cm. This is a fish of superb quality, so it is worth while to know for sure how to identify it. Note that the pectoral fins on both sides are well developed; that the dorsal and anal fins are joined to the tail fin by membranes; and that the upper pectoral fin has an elliptical black spot on its rear margin. The colour of the eyed side is sepia, marked in life (but not after death) by irregular darker blotches.
