  • About
Tiny sugar spheres in mixed colors used to decorate iced cookies and frosted cakes, and some fried confections.
I like to fill my sugar bowls with colored sugar crystals. Place ½ cup sparkling white sugar in a jar with a tight fitting lid. Add a few drops of liquid food color, mix with a spoon, then cover the jar and shake to distribute the color evenly. This will keep indefinetly. You can do green and red for Christmas, pastel colors for the spring, and mix the colored sugars as you wish. To give away as gifts, I layer the different colors in a tall thin glass jars, fill each jar to the very top, cover with a cork and tie a ribbon around the neck of the bottle.
