Due to the hot climate, oranges grown in Southeast Asia have a green exterior. Only with cold weather does the green chlorophyll leave the rind. The interior is very pale orange and not very flavorful, lacking that characteristic sweet and tart flavor of Florida- and California-grown varieties.
