Summer fruit platters

Appears in

  • About
Great platters of fruits are a joy during the summer months in Morocco. Melons are particularly delicious whether striped watermelon, or canteloupe or honeydew. Cut into individual pyramids and served with quarters of lemon, they are delicious chilled (served alone or with other fruits), liberally decked with cubes of ice.
In the summer there are ripe green and purple figs in all the markets and on sale along the roads, artfully arranged pyramids of brightly coloured fruits in spanking new, straw baskets.
