Mezcal

The parent category to tequila, mezcal is primarily produced in Oaxaca, Mexico, and made from multiple types of agave plants. When making mezcal (or mescal), the piña of the agave plant is slow-roasted underground with hot stones, giving mezcal a much smokier and earthy flavor in comparison to tequila.
